Vrijdag gaan we terug naar onze roots en trekken we met veel vrolijk lawijt de straat op met The Happy Crappy Queer Parade, aangekondigd door Den Ambrassband. We starten in de Zomerfabriek met twee workshops. Nyiragasigwa Hens smeert uw stembanden en brengt u tot vocale hoogtepunten om kwierkabaal te maken en Nessreen Tepeg schopt tegen uw innerlijke activist in een workshop waar we queer pancartes maken voor de Parade. We creëren met de middelen die we hebben, maar we zullen gehoord worden! Om 19u marcheren we samen met de queers, de outcasts, de weirdos en de misfits door het Zurenborg en houden halt aan de Draakplaats voor een speaker's corner. The Greasy Horses nemen u vervolgens per pedaalpaard mee naar Onder Stroom waar we podium geven aan queer muzikanten en de nacht in dansen. We will take back our Pride and if we can't dance, it's not our revolution!
De Happy Crappy Queers willen het vrije, non-commerciële karakter van de Parade beschermen en rekenen daarvoor op de queergemeenschap. De ruimte is specifiek voor hen gereserveerd en hun bondgenoten en deelname is gratis. We zijn er voor groepen die elders geen stem krijgen, niet gerepresenteerd worden of waarvoor deelname bemoeilijkt wordt om gelijk welke reden. De Parade is er voor en door queers en we vragen politieke partijen en commerciële instanties om dit te respecteren en zich te onthouden. Uiteraard is iedereen als individu, zonder reclame- of campagne-attributen, welkom!
The Happy Crappy Queer Parade is non-profit en ontstond vanuit een noodzaak. We nodigen alle deelnemers uit om zich verantwoordelijk op te stellen, zich de Parade toe te eigenen en er zorg voor te dragen. Dit evenement is een Safe(r) Space, find your people and take care of eachother!

Friday we go back to our roots and populate the streets with cheerful clamor, with The Happy Crappy Queer Parade, announced by Den Ambrassband. We take off at the Zomerfabriek with two workshops. Nyiragasigwa Hens will lubricate your vocal cords and Nessreen Tepeg will help you awaken your inner activist while making kick-ass placards. We'll create with the resources we have, but we will be heard! At 7 PM we march together with the queers, the outcasts, the misfits and the weirdos through Zurenborg and stop at the Draakplaats for a speaker's corner. After the parade The Greasy Horses will mount their bikes like Amazones and take you through the city for a ride to Onder Stroom, where we open the stage to queer performers and dance all night. We will take back our Pride and if we can't dance, it's not our revolution!
The Happy Crappy Queers want to protect the free and non-commercial nature of the Parade and will count on the queer community to make that happen. The space is specifically reserved for them and their allies, and participation is free. We are there for those who won't be heard, aren't represented or aren't able to participate elsewhere for whatever reason. The Parade is organized by queers, for queers and we kindly ask political parties and commercial companies to respect this and to abstain. Of course, every individual who wants to support the Parade, without any commercial or campaign attributes, is welcome!

Workshops
Nyiragasigwa Hens is schrijfster, theatermaakster en stuwende kracht achter BeHuman VZW en 'Rwanda en zoveel meer'. Ze biedt deelnemers van de Parade vooraf een workshop aan, waarin we ons zowel als individu, als collectief kunnen laten horen en verklanken.
Nessreen Tepeg is een kunstenares en artistiek duizendpoot met Soedanese roots, die je in haar workshop helpt om je in woord en beeld uit te drukken met pancartes. Van activistisch tot humoristisch, van volle slogans tot kleurrijke beelden, laat je zien en 'express yourself'.

Nyiragasigwa Hens is a writer, theater maker and the driving force behind BeHuman VZW and 'Rwanda and so much more'. She invites you to a workshop where we can find our voices as individuals and as a collective.
Nessreen Tepeg is an artistic centipede with Sudanese roots, who will help you in her workshop to express yourself in word and images on placards. From activism to humour, from full slogans to colorful pictures.

Den Ambrassband
Den Ambrassband ontstond als een krakersblazerscollectief vanuit de Scheld’Apen in Antwerpen en groeide uit tot een internationaal gewaardeerd muziekensemble. De band is opgericht door zanger en trompettist Gregor Engelen en brengt Balkan en Klezmer, met explosieve blazers. Den Ambrassband bleef zijn punk- en krakersroots altijd trouw, die als vanouds gelieerd zijn aan de queerbeweging. Ze trekken de Happy Crappy Queer Parade op gang vanuit de Zomerfabriek, met luid trompetgeschal en opzwepende Gypsy ritmes.
Den Ambrassband is a brass ensemble rooted in the squats at the Scheld'Apen in Antwerp. It will bring you Balkan and Klezmer with explosive horns. The band was founded by trumpet player Gregor Engelen and has grown to be an international renowned band, but always stayed loyal to the punk and squatters movements, affiliated with the queer movement. They will march at the head of the Parade and announce us with loud trumpet blasts and arrousing gypsy rythms.
The Greasy Horses
Na de Parade op het Zurenborg zadelen The Greasy Horses de pedaalpaarden en brengen iedereen die de dag dansend wil afsluiten naar Onder Stroom. The Greasy Horses zijn een fietsgroep voor vrouwen, trans, non-binaire en genderfluïde bikers, die met vlammende wielen het patriarchaat platrijden.
De legende vertelt dat de glanzende glitterpaarden op posters in tienerkamers zich in plassen kettingolie rolden en de stad in galoppeerden. Ze sneden door verstikkende gaswolken van metalen stieren, die alle plaats opeisten, en hun scheten die alles bezoedelden. Moedig heroverden ze met hun manen in de wind opnieuw hun plaats in in de stad.
After the Parade The Greasy Horses will saddle their steel mares and guide everyone who wants to dance the night away to Onder Stroom. The Greasy Horses are a bike group for female, trans, non-binairy and gender fluid riders, who'll make roadkill from the patriarchy.
The legend goes that the glimmering horses from posters in teenage girls bedrooms rolled themselves in puddles of chain oil and galloped to the city. They cut through the thick suffocating clouds of gas farting metal bulls that took up all the air and space. Courageous as they were, they stormed into the city and reconquered their place.
